05 Dec Why Dutch isn’t the same as Holland in FinTech
ABN AMRO has been so kind to offer their event location to two organisations and their programs at the same day at consecutive times: Dutch Fintech Awards and Holland FinTech. As response to several questions on the program and the organisers: let’s clear things up:
Holland FinTech organizes monthly meetups. On December 12th it closely cooperates with ABN AMRO’s weekly Startup Friday, and renamed the edition of 12 December as FinTech Friday. The program starts at 15:30 hrs, ABN AMRO Innovation Centre, Foppingadreef 22, Amsterdam. Entrance is free, however make sure you are registered.
Holland FinTech is a startup itself, initiated by Don Ginsel, which builds an inclusive global innovation network and incubator for Fintech. Holland FinTech helps startups with funding, business development, staffing and other support, and helps corporates to work with the right startups.
Dutch FinTech Awards / Community is a company by publisher Alex van Groningen, that builds a member and partner community to support their program for a Fintech award and related events around several themes in the fintech space, with a focus on the Netherlands.
Both the initiatives are of benefit to the startups in the fintech ecosystem in different ways. But the vision and approach differ completely. Therefore Holland FinTech supports the Dutch FinTech Awards as an independent party.
So what happens on the 12th of December?
Between 14:00 hrs and 15:30 hrs, Alex van Groningen receives nominees for the fintech awards, jury members and paying visitors.
After 15:30 hrs Fintech Friday begins, an open and free event hosted by Holland FinTech and ABN AMRO together. This event will end with drinks until around 18:00 hrs. Guests invited by Alex van Groningen are welcome at the FinTech Friday event.
