PYMNTS publishes its Payments 2016 eBook

This past month online media platform PYMNTS published an eBook entitled ‘Payments 2016: The Year Of…’. The freshly released eBook looks back at key takeaways and major developments that took place in 2016.
PYMNTS consulted 21 executives from across the industry in order to gain unique insight into the most significant improvements and changes that took place in the payments sector in 2016. Between open APIs, omnichannel, EMV chip cards, and speedier payments, it was difficult to identify just one as having had the most impact on the sector. The payments ecosystem experienced countless shifts and trends throughout the year, and many of these will likely impact the way that payments stakeholders operate for years to come.
To get to the bottom of its question and identify the most important development in payments in 2016, PYMNTS posed one simple question to the 21 interviewed executives:
“If you had to fill in the blank: ‘Payments was the year of ……….’, what would your answer be? How does your answer change your world – and the world of payments more broadly?”
The responses featured in this eBook were provided by top executives from companies that are playing an important role in the payments sector including ACI Worldwide, Hyperwallet, Applause, Entrust Datacard, Intel, Vantiv, Mitek, Urban FT, Enova International, Synchrony Financial, and many more.
