Top digital identity events in 2018

Digital identity and KYC are currently pressing issues for all kinds of companies, not least for those offering financial services. Here we give an overview of the main digital identity events happening in Europe and the USA in 2018.

Blockchaingers Global Digital Identity Deep Dive, 14th of February, The Hague, the Netherlands
This event is hosted by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations as part of a series of seven deep dives into different themes. The goal is to explore how blockchain can be used to create secure digital identities for individuals, and to build prototypes that incorporate these insights.
Identity & KYC Summit Europe, 1st – 2nd of March, London, UK
This London summit will focus on innovations in ID authentication, KYC, client on-boarding and AML. It will address how firms can develop cheaper, quicker and more user-centric on-boarding for consumers and corporations. The conference is aimed at professionals working in banks, insurance companies, investment funds, regulatory bodies, PSPs, and more.
Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit, 5th – 6th of March, London, UK
Also in London, this two-day summit is organized around four tracks: Foundational Strategies in Identity and Access Management (IAM), Moving Your IAM Program Forward, Building IAM for the Future, and Beyond the Checkbox: Security, Risk and Privacy.
InfoSecurity Connect, 5th – 7th of March, San Diego, USA
InfoSecurity Connect is an invitation-only meeting that describes itself as a “one-stop shop for senior level cybersecurity executives from North America’s most influential financial services institutions.” Featured speakers include professionals from the Bank of America, Citi Bank, Regions Bank and the FBI.
KNOW Identity Conference, 26th – 28th of March, Washington DC, USA
This conference in Washington DC is run by the London-based Open Identity Exchange (OIX), a non-profit initiative that aims to foster research collaborations between different institutions. The results are published as white papers, which are shared in OIX workshops.
IDnext, 28th – 29th of March, Utrecht, the Netherlands
IDnext describes itself as “the European Digital IDentity and Payments (un)-conference.” This two-day event aims to promote active discussions, facilitating peer-to-peer learning, collaboration, interaction and creativity.
Digital Identity Summit, 14th – 15th of May, Paris, France
Held in the springtime in Paris, this event is bound to attract an international audience. If you miss it, don’t worry, because a second edition will be held in Los Angeles in September. Its intended audience are professionals working in risk management, compliance, security, fraud prevention, authentication, customer experience, customer loyalty, business mobility and digital transformation.
IDM Europe, 20th September, Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Back in the Netherlands, this one-day event features sessions on access management for enterprises and the future of IAM in enterprises. Speakers include Chris Brown (Vice President International, Basis Technology), Hans van der Burght (Information Architect and Lead Analyst, Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs), Alice Vasilescu (IT Project Officer, Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) eID at European Commission) and Marianne Schinkel (Information Manager, Jumbo).
