Event recap: September MeetUp

Our monthly Holland FinTech MeetUp was held at Clifford Chance’s office in Amsterdam last Friday with approximately 70 attendees. Don Ginsel, CEO of Holland FinTech, Marian Scheele, Senior Counsel and Han Teerink, Counsel in Clifford Chance kicked off the event
Opening the meetup, Don discussed the continuously growing Dutch fintech ecosystem and the role of Holland Fintech in providing knowledge and facilitating cooperation. Following, Marian Scheele presented the impressive fintech track record, well-known and successful clients, and partners of Clifford Chance.  Then, Han Teerink elaborated on this by presenting how Clifford Chance acted as a transaction advisor and created a strong relationship with the global payments platforms such as Adyen.
The pitches
The first pitch belonged to Debby Jansen, CCO of Levi9, that is a technology service provider specialising in custom made business IT, and that is putting emphasise on high productivity, stable team velocity, and great quality through automation, agility, intensive interaction of its customers.
The second pitch belonged to Philip Niemeyer, VP Business Development from CrossLend, a B2B FinTech company with a mission to make the European debt ecosystem more efficient, transparent and profitable. ‘’We allow banks to increase their origination capacities.” he remarked.
That is followed by the pitch of Rene Hendrikse, Vice President & Managing Director of Mitek Sysems, that is a software company in mobile capture and digital identity verification solutions built on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, enabling an enterprise to verify a user’s identity during a digital transaction, which assists financial institutions, payments companies and other businesses operating in highly regulated markets in mitigating financial risk and meeting regulatory requirements while increasing revenue from digital channels. Rene Hendrikse presented their partners and customers and discussed a number of use cases of their software.
The third pitch was given by Hessel Kuik, CEO and founder of Bizcuit. Bizcuit promises to assist entrepreneurs to focus on their businesses, as the Bizcuit app automates the whole transaction process from invoice to payment.
The last pitch was given by Ivan Kryvokin, Chief Business Officer of Magnis. Magnis aims to transform traditional FinTech world with smart solutions, with the expertise of 13 years in the business. The company selects and trains professionals with the possibility of further employment, and provides intensive courses on topics including HTML/CSS/JavaScript, .NET/C#, iOS, Android.
