Chambers and Partners FinTech Rankings 2019 is a well-known global league table, ranking the best law firms and individual lawyers in fintech across 22 countries, among them the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands rankings, Independent Dutch firms Kennedy Van der Laan and Van Doorne are ranked in the first band, Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance in the second, and Backer McKenzie and Rotterdam-headquartered Loyens & Loeff in the third.
Regarding ranked lawyers, Arno Voerman, who co-head’s the firm’s fintech team and is a financial regulation and payments expert, occupies the first band.
For the second band, Kennedy van der Laan’s Joris van Horzen, who cuts his teeth specialising in banking and finance and also helms his firm’s fintech department, makes an appearance along with Marian Scheele of Clifford Chance. Scheele specialises in regulation and helps clients with applying for payments services licenses and navigating virtual currencies.
FG Lawyers’ Anne Hakvoort occupies the third band on the list. She focuses on financial regulatory advisory services to fintechs and financial services providers.
