Omnipresent tech heavyweight Google has teamed up with the world’s most well funded philanthropic organization to start a foundation aimed at providing digital financial services in developing countries. Together with several other impact investors such as the Omidyar Network and the Rockefeller Foundation, Moojaloop provides a free platform for digital payments to be used by the market and central banks in developing countries, leveraging off the success of mobile payments in Africa, such as M-Pesa.
