Grab – the booming south east asian ride hailing app has forged ahead with it’s grabpay solution and launched in the Philippines. The Grab Pay card in the philippines will be a fully digital prepaid debit card, powered by the MasterCard network. The mobile wallet is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and can be used for transaction within the grab app and for third party transactions. The wallet is protected with a fraud detection engine. This move is in line with market trends in the Philippines, where almost 40% of filipino consumers are now using contactless payments more frequently.
