Weekly funding highlights 28 August 2020

ReliaQuest, a cybersecurity managed service and intelligence platform for global enterprises, raised over $300m (€252.49m) in growth financing from KKR, with participation from Ten Eleven Ventures and ReliaQuest founder and CEO Brian Murphy. The funding will support the company in accelerating its growth initiatives, including international expansion and platform development. Read more

Waterdrop, an online insurance technology platform, announced that it has raised $230 million (€193.57m)  in a new round of funding jointly led by two strategic investors, the insurance giant Swiss Re and returning investor Tencent, with potential plans for an IPO. Read more

Mural, a digital workspace for visual collaboration in the enterprise that solves problems and builds consensus using visual methods, raised $118 million (€99.31m) in an outsized Series B funding from investors Insight Partners, along with Tiger Global, Slack’s corporate venture fund and the World Innovation Lab, Qualtrics‘ Ryan Smith and Allison Pickens, a former COO at Gainsight. With the new investment, Mural plans on focusing more on its  global go-to-market capabilities, product work and community engagement initiatives. Read more

Redis, an open source database and the provider of Redis, closed a $100m (€84.16m) Series F financing from Bain Capital Ventures and TCV, with participation from existing investors Francisco Partners, Goldman Sachs Growth, Viola Ventures, and Dell Technologies Capital. The company intends to use the funds to grow the global Redis community, expand its go-to-market team and programs, and for further product investments. Read more

Socure, a predictive analytics platform for digital identity verification of consumers, raised $35 million (€29.46m) funding from investor Sorenson Ventures, with participation from Commerce Ventures, Scale Venture Partners, and Flint Capital, alongside strategic investors Citi Ventures, Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, and MVB Financial. With the new sum, Socure plans on bolstering its R&D efforts and expanding its customer base. Read more

Public.com, the social investing app, announced a strategic seven-figure investment from business professor and entrepreneur Scott Galloway. Public.com is a community-based investing app that makes it possible for investors to communicate about businesses and financial news and also helps them exchange opinions and thoughts. Furthermore, the app has an educational tool aimed at providing context in order for people to be guided through their investment journeys.  Read more

  • Finix, a payment infrastructure platform that gives businesses an alternate way to own, manage, and monetize their entire payments experience has extended its Series B financing with a $30 million (€25.25m) investment. Read more
  • Cobalt, a cybersecurity platform that connects human penetration testers (also known as ‘ethical hackers’) with companies looking to test their software, raised $29m (€24.41m). Read more
  • AffirmLogic, a company applying mathematical foundations to compute the deep meaning of software, closed a $25m (€21.04m) equity financing round. Read more
  • Trove, a company that builds and operates resale programs for brands, raised $16m (€13.47m) at a $75 million valuation. Read more
  • Property tech startup Habi raised $10 million (€8.42m)in a Series A round. Read more
  • Commonstock, a developer of a group chat platform that is designed to share investment knowledge and decisions, received $9.7 million (€8.16m) in seed funding. Read more
  • Berbix, an instant identity verification platform, raised $9m (€7.57m) in Series A financing. Read more
  • Entertainment tech startup Wrapbook received a CAD$4.7 million (€3.03m)  seed round of equity financing. Read more
  • Copper, an US challenger bank aimed at teenagers, has landed $4.3 million (€3.62m) in funding Read more
  • PrizePool, a fintech startup which combines online banking with a monthly sweepstake designed to incentivize personal savings, raised $4.25m (€3.57m) in seed funding. Read more
  • MagicCube, a security platform for mobile and IoT devices, delivering hardware-grade protection without the complexity and constraints, received a strategic investment from Visa, for an undisclosed sum.Read more
