This began early hours on Monday, after president Putin announced Luhansk and Donetsk as independent states. Meanwhile, the U.S finance markets are seeing a rise in stocks, as it’s average rose to 6 percent — just this week.

  • A group of the UK’s leading fintech bosses have called on the Government to ramp up efforts to overhaul regulation and build a world-leading environment for the sector
  • Binance, the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange, is making a $200 million strategic investment in Forbes, the 104-year-old magazine and digital publisher
  • The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has bought TORA, a provider of technology for the trading of multiple asset classes including crypto, for $325 million
  • Pakistan’s Askari Bank has partnered with fintech firm Hysab Kytab and plans to integrate the latter’s personal finance management (PFM) solution into its digital banking offering
  • Singapore-based FX platform M-DAQ has acquired B2B cross-border payments provider Wallex. The deal forms part of M-DAQ’s growth strategy as it looks to expand into new international markets
  • Singapore has long been praised for being a forward-thinking, progressive jurisdiction that supports technology and innovation. This has enticed a horde of cryptocurrency and blockchain startups to set up shop in the nation, lured by its seemingly openness to the industry

The largest funding rounds we found from across the world
Many more deals and transactions from fintech this week! This week’s prominent fundings are shared by multiple sectors, including fintech, payments, NFT, credit cards, banking and more.
  • PrimaryBid (London, UK), a fintech platform that provides retail investors with fair access to public markets, raised $190M (EUR 167m) in Series C funding
  • Pine Labs (Noida, India), a fintech company, has received a $150 million (EUR 132m) investment from US asset management firm Alpha Wave Global
  • Clickatell (Cape Town, California, US), a fintech firm, announced it has secured $91-million (EUR 80m) in its latest Series C round of funding
  • Atom bank (Durham, UK), an app-based bank, raised more than £75m in new equity funding as it continues to grow its profitability and drive to IPO
  • Pontera (NYC, US), a fintech company, formerly known as FeeX, announced a $45 million (EUR 39m) funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners
  • Bluebear Technologies Pvt. Ltd (New Delhi, India), a company which runs education-focused fintech startup Propelld, said it has secured $35 million (EUR 31m) as a part of its Series B round
  • Other interesting funding rounds this week: Ageras Group (Copehagen, Denmark) raises $34M (EUR 29m) in Funding, Trullion (NYC and Tel Aviv, Israel) raises $15M (EUR 13m) in Series A Funding, Swell Financial Raises $10M (EUR 8m) in Series A funding round.
