This week in fintech: All was not quiet on the western front as banking giant Santander partnered with Holland Fintech Member Ebury to acquire 51% of its shares in a move valued at $453 Million USD - allowing both parties to expand their customer base. Unicorn and media darling Revolut partnered with Adzooma to bring exclusive benefits to their customers. RBS refused to be left behind in the customer centricity competition spawned by the covid-19 pandemic and has launched a spare debit card for vulnerable groups that can be topped up remotely - much like Starling Bank’s earlier offering. The Eastern hemisphere was not to be outdone with big news coming out of Indonesia - key player Gojek acquiring payments startup Moka to produce its own POS system! Eastern success continued with Hong Kong based firm Oriente raising a cool $50 million USD. In other funding news, Holland Fintech Member ING Bank joined forces with HSBC and pumped 5.7 Million GPB into Transficc, a low latency trading platform, whilst b2b challenger bank Finom took home $7 million USD in seed funding. Special mention to fast mover Snoop - a UK based FinTech that launched a month ahead of schedule in April and has already raked in an extra 3.2 million GBP in funding!
