Title and Summary

Director, Account Manager

Overview:
This position is part of the Merchant & Acquirer Relationship Management group within Mastercard Canada North American Markets.
Position Overview:
Develop merchant relationships focused on the introduction of new technology and Mastercard products, driving volume and Mastercard brand preference. This position will maintain existing relationships with key merchants in Canada region. Align merchant initiatives with other functions within the company


Role:
Accountabilities:
Key merchant sales and relationship management to deliver on the regional Acceptance strategy, including the execution of merchant focused management objectives.

Contribute to the Regions Acceptance Strategy and annual go-to-market plan
Ensure effective partnering with MasterCard functions such as Marketing, Product, MasterCard Advisors and other key internal partners.

Leverage and apply payments industry knowledge, expertise and thought leadership to developing merchant relationships, refining deal strategies, creating competitive offerings establishing value propositions and closing high-priority deals.

Apply complex deal development, sales discipline and collaborative approaches in providing the organizational focus and obtaining the organizational alignment required to prioritize and manage multiple facets of complex deals, in order to achieve the desired results.

Create and deliver quarterly reviews encompassing account performance and solution based consultative sales technology elements with assigned accounts.

Participate and Host assigned accounts at semiannual Merchant Advisory Group meetings.
Monitor and manage to ensure merchant adherence to terms of existing merchant contracts.

Continuously improve the quality and 'winnability' of Mastercard's proposals, particularly in the following areas:
• Value propositions and innovative business solutions that customers will clearly perceive as compelling, and meeting or exceeding their business objectives and requirements
• Deal strategy development, planning and execution
• Deal economics
• Quality and depth of analysis underpinning the proposal (including a focus on demonstrating how Mastercard's solution improves the customer's financials)


All About You:
Experience in the card payment industry
Knowledge of the Credit card acceptance business and experience with B2B sales
Expertise with deal creation and execution
Proven relationship management skills
Demonstrated success with consultative solution sales.
Established business development and strategy implementations skills
Demonstrated thought leadership, coaching and management skills
Planning and effective priority setting
Customer-focused, Solutions-oriented mentality
Strong team player with business acumen
College degree (MBA/graduate degree preferred)
