Who You'll Work With

In our Capabilities & Insights department, focused on Advanced Industries, we conduct research on a broad portfolio of industrial companies for our consulting teams in client studies and internal projects in our Lisbon office.

As a member of the Advanced Industries Practice, you will be part of a global team consisting of over 60 experts. The team operates in various locations worldwide, including Germany, the USA and China. In this role you have the opportunity to focus on topics in the Advanced Electronics - Semiconductor/Semiconductor area. This includes supporting consulting teams and clients in all areas of the semiconductor value chain, such as manufacturers of capital goods, fabless companies, manufacturers of integrated components, foundry companies and related companies.

We are part of McKinsey’s global Client Capabilities Network (CCN) with more than 7000 colleagues who support our consulting teams and clients with targeted expertise and industry analysis.

What You'll Do

As part of our global team, you will support our consulting teams and clients in the semiconductor industry with your expertise.

You will contribute significantly to the success of our client projects with analyses of current market developments, competition, corporate strategies and technology trends. The results of your analyses and your expertise are directly incorporated into the documents for our clients - whether it is in the form of quantitative analyses, reports/memos or presentations.

In addition to working for our consulting teams and clients, you can also expect an exciting working environment where you can continuously develop your knowledge and skills in the semiconductor field.

Together with our research teams around the world, you will analyze new topics and trends and integrate them into our existing knowledge infrastructure (e.g. databases, benchmarks). You will also have the opportunity to support our numerous publications on current trends and challenges in the semiconductor industry with your analyses.

Extensive coaching and further development are also offered. In addition to mentoring from experienced colleagues, you will regularly participate in high-quality internal trainings.

Qualifications

Final year or completed master’s degree
Internship experience (minimum)
Good understanding of economic contexts, a keen interest in technology topics
Experience in researching and preparing information (good to have)
Contact with the semiconductor industry (good to have)
Enjoys team work, complex issues; thinks conceptually and likes to get to the bottom of things analytically
Commitment, determination, initiative and creativity
Communicates convincingly both verbally and in writing in English
