Earlier this week a group of industry leading fintechs joined forces to launch a new non-profit organisation, the European Fintech Association (EFA). The main objective of the EFA will be to help create a single financial market within the EU, helping to ease cross-border issues for financial services. The EFA founding members are Raisin, a savings marketplace, SAAS provider Finleap, AltFi platform Funding Circle, Wealth Management platform MoneyFarm, digital bank N26, and money transfer service TransferWise. EFA’s new president of the board, Marc Roberts, commented” By launching the Brussels-based association, EFA will be able to support the voice of FinTechs in Europe by encouraging proportionate and smart regulation that will support European financial innovation while taking consumer protection into account.” The EFA joins other fintech hubs that champion for fintech markets in Brussels and around the single market, such as the European Digital Finance Association.
