This week European institutions were immersed in intense negotiations to reach an agreement on the Digital Service Act (DSA) which Brussels hopes will set a global benchmark on how to regulate big tech. The key piece of legislation aims to hold large tech multinationals, as GAFAM — Google, Apple, Facebook (now Meta), Amazon and Microsoft, TikTok and Twitter, accountable for what is published on their platforms.
