02.09. Insurance in a Blockchain world (Peer2Peer)

14 Jan 02.09. Insurance in a Blockchain world (Peer2Peer)

They are everywhere: new digital (sub) platforms where households borrow things from each other, buy used stuff apart, rent rooms, share cars
There is developed new hybrid market mechanism: the peer2peer economy.
This development affects insurers initially because their products match properly the new consumer demand. But the impact is perhaps more fundamental. The step of sharing stuff to the “risk sharing” is small. And the blockchain technology can have an accelerating and even disruptive effect. The insurance industry needs to reflect on this for sure.

Therefore, the Association organizes with TNO and other innovation partners (Microsoft, GfK, Ministry of Economic Affairs and KPMG) and Central Management on February 9, 2016 an Innovation Session on the impact of the peer2peer economy in the insurance sector.
