14 May BBVA Launches FinTech Startup Competition

Spanish BBVA (Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria) has opened registrations for its seventh annual global FinTech startup competition. The competition focuses on innovative startups that are transforming financial services.

Participation is open to startups created after April 1, 2011. The startup’s activities have to be in the field of the development of technology that is focused on banking and finance or technology with a connection to this industry. There must be an operative project or beta version available. Another requirement is that potential participant possesses less than €1.5 million of funding and €1 million of revenue over the last year.

BBVA will award € 30.000 in prize money to each of the six winners and offer them a two-week “immersion programme” where they will network with BBVA experts and industry professionals in London and Mexico.
