Amsterdam | May 2017 – Another successful edition of the Digital Insurance Agenda (DIA) conference is in the books and the stage has been set for a new wave of customer centric innovation. More than 50 insurtech firms joined DIA 2017 to showcase their innovative solutions to an audience of around 850 insurance executives and change agents hailing from 40 different countries around the globe.

Earlier this month, on May 10th and 11th, Amsterdam’s iconic Westergasfabriek venue played host to the second – and highly successful – edition of the Digital Insurance Agenda conference – DIA 2017. Around 850 C-level and C-1 insurance executives representing more than 250 major companies travelled from 40 different countries around the world to take part in the ‘must-see’ insurtech event. More than 50 innovative insurance technology companies were in attendance at DIA Amsterdam to present their novel solutions for accelerating innovation in the insurance sector. With tech on stage that ranged all the way from Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drones in P&C insurance to connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices and chat bots in the health and life sectors.

DIAmond Award winners announced!

A total of 60 selected insurtech companies from six continents around the globe gave live demonstrations of their innovative solutions during DIA Amsterdam. Presenting start-ups included, among others: Abracar (Germany), Amodo (Croatia), BIMA (Sweden), Boundlss (Australia), Cytora (UK), Dacadoo (Switzerland), eSignLive (Canada), GetmeIns (Israel), Guardtime (Estonia), Kevinsured (Spain), NuvaLaw (South Africa) PolicyPal (Singapore), Qover (Belgium), Reply.ai (USA), RightIndem (UK), Skyglyph (Bulgaria), SnapSure and Kasko (Germany), Tribe (Norway) and Youse (Brazil).

Despite this impressive showing, only the best of the best were selected to be winners of the exclusive DIAmond Award. Insurers and insurance tech investors who were in attendance at DIA collectively chose the six best insurtech firms in show to receive the distinguished DIAmond Award for ‘insurtech with the most strategic impact’. The six insurtech firms to win the DIAmond Award included:

  • Ladder [USA] | Digital term life insurance
  • Friss [Netherlands] | Fraud detection and risk mitigation for non-life.
  • Hover [USA] | Property claims and inspections via smartphone photos.
  • Backbase [Netherlands] | Omni channel customer engagement platform.
  • Sentiance [Belgium] | Moving from IoT to IoU with context-aware assistance
  • Sherpa [UK / Malta] | A 360 new and smart insurance concept.
