02 Jun Recap of FinTechStage Amsterdam and MeetFintech Day during StartupFest Europe!
It was a week full of Fintech events for us. On Wednesday, we organised together with FinTechStage for FinTechStage Amsterdam at the new Tripolis building. It was a great day filled with interesting presentations and discussion panels. Howard Lindzon kicked off the day with a great presentation on the future of financial media. Following that, we heard several noteworthy Fintech stories by speakers Antonio Rami from Kantox represents the start-up scene, Daniel Marovitz from Earthport PLC, Mariano Belinky from InnoVentures Santander represents bank and investor scene, and more (full speakers). Furthermore, throughout the day numerous discussion panels were hosted on the topics B2B Trading, B2B payments, Blockchain and Regtech. The day ended with enjoyable networking drinks. On Thursday we hosted the MeetFintech day on which more than 15 Fintech startups had the opportunity to present themselves to the public during start-up pitching rounds. We also welcomed several exciting speakers who shared their views on Fintech with us. Furthermore, three breakout sessions were organized covering the topics security, trading and payments. During these sessions five relevant start-ups presented their companies during a short pitches and discussion panels on each theme were organised. Keynote speakers and moderators during these sessions were: Shikko Nijland of Innopay, Pim‘t Hart of Optiver and Dennis van der Ham of KPMG. Some of the start-ups were Onegini, Pritle, and Spotcap. Other than that, we had very interesting panel discussions in three different sectors; Cybersecurity, Trading and Payments. Arthur’s Legal and Baker & McKenzie were supporting the panel discussion from legal and lawyer perspective, in order to show more diversity in this event. At the end of the afternoon SMO researcher Paul Iske who launched his book, Combinatoric Innovation, during a great presentation, closed the event.
Also during MeetFintech day we published the second version of Dutch Fintech Scene infographic with 200 Fintech companies in the Netherlands.

The day after MeetFintech day Don Ginsel, Holland FinTech founder, was at The Next Web Europe Conference in Amsterdam to moderate the Fast Money stage. Great speakers were there such as Ali Niknam from bunq, Pieter van der Does from Adyen, Braintree, Ingenico, TransferWise and many more. You can watch the full presentation of the event here!
