09 Jun Spotcap is offering two FinTech scholarships
Given the growing need for experts in the FinTech world, the German company Spotcap, is offering grants of EUR 2,000 for ambitious students who wish to study anything related to financial technology. Moreover, Spotcap is also offering summer internships so the students can get some hands on experience in the Fintech world.
German online credit platform, Spotcap, announced that it will offer scholarships to Dutch students interested in doing fintech-related studies. The scholarships consist of a EUR 2,000 grant that will be provided to the selected applicants. Furthermore, the company will offer summer internships to the chosen applicants in order to give them the opportunity to get real experience in the FinTech world. The Spotcap fintech scholarship will be awarded to two students.
Last week, fintech ambassador Willem Vermeend, called the Dutch government to make a greater effort in order to secure the future of fintech in the Netherlands. Willem promotes the creation of more knowledge in the fields of digitalization and finance as well as more investment in education for the future of financial technology. These values are close to Spotcap vision of the industry, as they see a lack of expertise in some areas that should be filled by educating future leaders and innovators. As the Director of Spotcap, Niels Turfboer, sees it “We offer this scholarship to emphasize the importance of future FinTech talent, and to encourage the industry to create career opportunities for the upcoming generations”
Because the initiative aims to give the most ambitious and talented students the EUR 2,000 grant and a summer internship placement, the expectations are high. Spotcap will ask those who apply to submit an essay in order to convince a jury formed by three experts in the fintech world. The jury will be formed by Niels Turfboer, Willem Vermeend and, our CEO at Holland FinTech, Don Ginsel.
Willem Vermeend thinks that its good to see a market player moving forward with this kind of initiatives. Moreover, he says that “The original initiative to make a scholarship and summer workout available to two ambitious students, closely matches my recommendations to promote the FinTech ecosystem.”
According to Don Ginsel, there is still a lot to be done in the field of education in order to secure the future of financial technology. He states that “Practical experience remains essential to the potential of students to grow up. Great that Spotcap takes this initiative to give students access to more knowledge and experience“.
