body{text-align:justify;} Last Friday, Holland FinTech celebrated the summer with a relaxed Meetup in Amsterdam. A presentation by Seedrs was followed by a drinks & networking. The Meetup took place at WeWork Metropool Amsterdam, a coworking space that focuses on fostering community. For most of the attendees, this was their very first Holland FinTech Meetup, so Brand Manager Agustin Cahyaningtia put extra effort into explaining how our network can benefit members. Agustin’s brief presentation was followed by an entertaining and informative pitch by David Mozes, Regional Manager for Benelux. Mozes described the Seedrs business model of providing equity to companies via crowdfunding. Based in London with offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon and New York, Seedrs have hosted crowdfunding for over 500 companies, with investors from 39 countries investing over GBP 220 million in campaigns through the Seedrs platform. Mozes described how the benefits of a blended funding mix that Seedrs promotes goes well beyond the dollar value. Whereas anchor investors provide active investor involvement, deep sector knowledge and industry connections, Seedrs investors bring marketing and PR value, European exposure, and customer acquisition potential.
