Mastercard Send integrates into the Western Union Money Transfer Service

The Western Union Company and Mastercard are joining forces to integrate Mastercard Send into the Western Union Money Transfer service, enabling the delivery of funds to almost all U.S. debit cards by Western Union. The new service will allow people to use their U.S. debit, credit and bank accounts to fund payments via westernunion.com and the WU mobile app. The digital funds transfer service is expected to be publicly available in early 2018. Currently, Western Union’s money transfer and payment services allow users to send and receive money worldwide. However, with Mastercard Send consumers can transfer money in a more convenient manner, making Western Union the first to offer the debit card enabled service via the Mastercard Send platform in the U.S. Mastercard Send is a driver behind some of the money transfer industry’s most innovative products.
