Swedish tech bank, Klarna, announced an extended partnership with ACI Worldwide today. ACI Worldwide powers real-time electronic payments for more than 5,100 companies worldwide. Through the partnership, Klarna enables online businesses in 10 major markets to integrate the company’s payment products by leveraging ACI’s UP eCommerce Payments solution.
As Klarna is a fast-growing e-commerce payments provider and fully licensed bank in Europe, ACI’s global network of payments providers and merchants is a great asset to Klarna’s business. As a result of the partnership, Klarna’s ‘Pay later’ and ‘Slice it’ payment options are made quickly and easily implementable. The UP eCommerce Payment solution’s open API enables the implementation of Klarna’s products through the small addition of a few lines of code for developers. This way, merchants can offer Klarna’s alternative payment methods without incurring risks, as Klarna takes responsibility for the credit risk assessment, settlement with the merchant and the payment collection.
ACI Worldwide
ACI Worldwide covers 350 alternative payment methods and card acquirers globally. The solutions give merchants the freedom to enter new markets fast and subsequently fine-tune their payment setup to meet local demand. The company services over 5,100 organizations, including more than 1,000 of the largest financial institutions and intermediaries and thousands of merchants, globally.
