The Annual Member Summit on January 17 was a celebration of our members and our three years of history. We started 2018 by sharing our plans, strategies and calendar for the coming year. We are dedicated to creating more collaboration, more events, more networking and more success to all in our member base.
It was a busy day at Beursplein 5. After opening the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, we spent the day with our hosts, AFS, before welcoming our wonderful members to the Exchange for the Annual Member Summit. Where better to host our fintech members than in the oldest stock exchange in the world?
In the spirit of growing our ecosystem, we started the event with coffee, cafes and mingling. Networking opportunities are key to all Holland FinTech events.
We love our members.
The fundamental focus Holland FinTech’s mission is our members. The Annual Member Summit was a chance to survey the audience and uncover the topics and issues important to them.
Interactive audience involvement brought life to the presentation. Voting on phones, the audience told us that networking and meet-ups were the highlights of 2017. More drinks and nibbles to come!
What themes are our members interested in?
Blockchain, AI and open banking are the favourite topics. This year, we’re building tight-knit ecosystems around themes which will put our members in contact with the right people. These themes, such as open banking, regtech or insurtech, will direct research, insights and events. Not sure about which theme you fit into? Do not see our industry segment represented? Give us a call or shoot us an email. We would love to hear from you.
Our host: the AFS Group
It was also important to hear from our hosts, the AFS Group. AFS Group is a specialised intermediary in the wholesale Financial and Renewable Energy sector which seeks to help investors find investment partners more easily. Jeroen van Walsem talked about a new program AFS is working with called LiquidShare. A pan-European project, LiquidShare develops blockchain for trade settlements. More news of this product will follow in Q1 2018, so keep an eye out, suggested Van Walsem.
