AxonIQ has released AxonDB their latest product to improve event sourcing and data management. It is a specialized, high-performance database system which uses event sourcing pattern to support micro services and other applications. Event thinking was listed as one of the top technology trend by Gartner.
Event thinking stores data according to events in time. This means that while it remains impossible to go back in time, it is possible to alter past data. The Axon Framework, AxonIQ’s open source Java framework, uses event sourcing pattern to formulate digital business strategies. ‘Event thinking’ allows for real time situational awareness in a business. AxonIQ is proud that organizations globally use the AxonIQ open source framework for critical business applications.
With AxonDB, organizations can combine the Axon Framework with AxonDB. Traditional database technology (SQL, RDBMS) often struggles with scalability when storing data as events. However, AxonDB is purposely built for this. AxonDB handles billions of events on commodity hardware, without any tuning efforts. It also improves consistency and responsiveness of applications and lowers the total cost of ownership.
