Last week, the European Women in Payments Network and Holland FinTech held the “Game Changers In The Dutch Payments Market: Winners Of The Future?” meetup at De Nederlandsche Bank. With more than 100 attendees and influential speakers from the Fintech ecosystem, this event brought together start-ups, well-established companies and payments enthusiasts.
Don Ginsel from Holland FinTech, Silvia Mensdorff-Pouilly from ACI Worldwide and Petra Hielkema from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) kicked off the event by welcoming the audience and giving an overview on payments and how to create an inclusive fintech community.
Next on stage was Evelien Witlox, Global Head Payments & Cards at ING, who shared her insights on the future of the payments scene under the theme “Change is the New Normal.” Witlox addressed the challenges and opportunities that PSD2 & Open Banking present for fintech start-ups, bigtechs and incumbents.
This was followed by a panel discussion with Petra Hieklkema from DNB, Daria Rippingale from BillPro, Evelien Witlox from ING and Sandra Schriek from Pro2Change & BIS First as panelists, and moderated by Nadja van der Veer from EWPN. The panel’s topic, “game changers in the Dutch Payments market: winners of the future?”, reached consumer perspective and PSD2.
Before closing the event and networking, Ayse Zoodsma-Sungur from DNB presented Pay-Able - a new platform designed to provide disabled and elderly consumers barrier-free access to payment terminals, which is key when promoting financial inclusion.
