The AutoInvest feature from Seedrs allows investors to automatically invest a fixed amount in campaigns that meet a series of preselected criteria, which is a first for the crowdfunding industry, according to their press release.
The equity crowdfunding platform made the announcement on July 17, 2018 via press release.
AutoInvest gives investors the opportunity to easily build a diversified investment portfolio while helping companies they believe in. Hence, with the feature, investors won’t miss out on opportunities on the equity crowdfunding platform that fit their particular ethos.
Joel Ippoliti, chief product officer for Seedrs, describes the motivation behind the feature thusly:

There are investors who want it to be quicker and easier to build a diverse early stage investment portfolio, but still want to have oversight and control over their investments. Bringing customisation and transparency to an auto invest tool such as this is a real game changer; there’s nobody else doing anything quite like it”

Seedrs will add expanded functionality to the feature in the coming weeks, where users will be able to select S/EIS tax eligibility, stage of business or sector, and other customisable features.
