Wearable payments launched by ABN Amro

Following the success of a 500 consumer trials dating almost exactly one year ago, ABN Amro have offered the technology to all Dutch customers. Feedback illustrated positive affection for the convenient payments option, naming sporting and exercising users as major beneficiaries of not having to carry cards. 

A host of wearable accessories are integrable with ABN Amro accounts to facilitate contactless payments of up to EUR 25, or above with a PIN (capped at EUR 250 per day). Early feedback reported 80% of users preferred the technology to cards, with ABN  Amro’s Yvonne Duits stating: “The 500 clients involved thought very highly of this payment method, reporting how good it was not always to have to bring their debit cards when going out or taking part in sports.”
