The strategic investment vehicle of the Dutch bank Rabobank will use the funds to invest in agricultural technology (agtech) companies and financial technology (fintech) companies. The funds were raised from Rabobank.
In addition to further investing in fintech and agtech companies, Rabo Frontier Ventures will use the newly-raised capital to expand its innovation strategy to innovation hubs around the globe, such as Singapore, San Francisco, and Tel Aviv.
Harrie Vollaard, managing partner at Rabo Frontier Ventures, gave the following comment:
“After two years with more than ten investments in a row, it is time to broaden our horizon further. We see many opportunities all across the globe to invest in companies who align with our strategy of sustainable growth. We are keen to work with entrepreneurs and investors in prime markets like FinTech and Agtech. With our knowledge, network and capital we help ambitious companies to reach the next level.”
The year-old fund has raised EUR 150 million to-date and invested in 10 start-ups including We.trade, Tellow, ProducePay, and komgo SA.
