An agreement between ACI Worldwide and Western Union will see US bill payments firm Speedpay merge with ACI’s own UP bill pay platform for a reported USD 750 million. This will help ACI expand its already broad range of software focused on facilitating real-time electronic payments. 

This is another market indication of the US’ growing fintech and payments technology adoption, and adds an estimated USD 350 million in revenues to ACI’s already rapidly growing real-time payments suite. They estimate that the to-be-combined bill payments solutions will serve 4000 US clients, which ACI is optimistic will rapidly increase to take advantage of an already 15 billion transactions strong US market.
