The Dutch bank made the investment in the Israeli crime detection firm for an undisclosed amount from its Digital Impact Fund. ThetaRay provides big data analytics in order to fight cybercrime in the financial industry and operational failures.
ABN AMRO has made fighting AML, terrorist financing, and human trafficking priorities as of late.
Hugo Bongers, who acts as Director of ABN AMRO’s Digital Impact Fund, states that “Our investment in ThetaRay strengthens the current operational relationship between the bank and ThetaRay”. The investment in ThetaRay is the bank’s first in Israel.
To date, ThetaRay has raised over USD 60 million.
