Klarna goes in-store in Netherlands with Pay later solution

The leader in smooth payments launched after pay in store in the Netherlands, beginning with audio electronics retail HiFi Klubben, where Pay later was already available online. Klarna’s after pay solution allows customers to pay for items up to 14 days after receiving the product, so they can try the product before buying it. Nearly 7,000 retail locations in Austria, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland use Klarna’s Pay later.

Consumers wanting to use Pay later at retail locations can choose the payment option at check out. Once chosen, the customer receives a QR code, SMS, or email about the purchase. In Klarna’s app, they can then manage the payment along with their other purchases made via Kalrna. As with using Pay later online, Klarna carries out a risk assessment for users taking advantage of Pay later in stores.

Wilko Klaassen, Klarna’s General Manager for the Netherlands and Belgium, noted that Klarna was excited to begin offering its popular after pay solution in physical stores. He also stated that, “an increasing amount of consumes and clients were asking us to bring Pay later to stores”.
