The next challenges in Personal Finance

What are the key elements in order to win the next challenge in personal finance? What is everyone still missing?

During the last few months a lot has happened in the area of personal finance. Not only are banks are enriching their existing apps, but also other financial institutions are looking at untapped data sources to create new propositions. But the overall impression is that there is still a lot to be done in order to make personal finance truly customer-centric.

Bittiq and Holland Fintech will be hosting a “Personal Finance Management Roundtable” in Utrecht this coming Tuesday to discuss all this.

The innovation we now see in personal finance goes mainly in the direction of improving the existing customer experience. Take Apple pay, for example, or the possibility to pay via wearables, which are examples of solutions that many banks are implementing in order to smoothen the existing payment experience. But is this really what is going to change the future of personal finance? And what new propositions can consumers expect in the coming months? Will incumbents try to be at the forefront? Or will they be part of a later wave of innovation? We will try to address all these and other questions at our roundtable.

This event will be hosted by Bittiq, an Utrecht-based fintech company which has customer centricity at its core. Thanks to its continuous interaction with the end consumer, Bittiq helps financial institutions to empower their customers to make better financial decisions based on data. They are now working on bridging personal finance and future choices – such as savings, investments, pension and sustainability – with a solution called “The Money Activator”, which will be presented on Tuesday.

Looking ahead, the role of data will increase. The financial institutions that come out on top will be able to guide their users with relevant insights based on user centric data. However, to really make a difference, these insights need to be actionable. They need to lead to smarter and better decisions for the future.

The roundtable will be the chance to start sharing these insights and discuss together how to transform them into new propositions.

We look forward to seeing you there.
