Yesterday, we facilitated almost 40 online meetings and showcased some of Holland FinTech’s most ambitious FinTechs and InsurTechs to experienced corporates and individuals active in the German market, through an online elevator pitching session!
Germany drew in a total of $1.3bn of venture funding in 2019, and is Europe’s second largest fintech hub after the UK. With Berlin emerging as a centre for financial technology, and Frankfurt as a major financial hub in Europe, Germany is home to the European Central Bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, Frankfurt Stock Exchange and 85 multinational banking headquarters.
Seemingly an opportune place for FinTechs and InsurTechs to start up business, Holland FinTech partnered with The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Netherlands Business Support Office Frankfurt to organize the German Digital Matchmaking program, with the goal of assisting the Holland FinTech network on their journey to growth into the German market.
We are extremely proud to have shined the spotlight on some of the most exciting FinTechs and InsurTechs within our network through the German Digital Matchmaking program, providing each company with key connections and insights from the German markets. The program allowed these companies the opportunity to share their ideas to investors, peers from high level financial institutions and corporates, supporting them on their journey to growth! The final session yesterday allowed each FinTech and InsurTech to pitch to their company to a high calibre audience, and later connecting with them 1-1 in online meetings.
We’re glad to hear that the participants involved within this program, have already started scheduling their first follow-ups to discuss their future plans!
