Monthly Wrap Up: March 2021

 

What’s the latest buzz in fintech? March has started off with new partnerships and mergers. Reliance Industries, an Indian multinational conglomerate company, has partnered with Facebook, Google and fintech player Infibeam to set up a national digital payment network. Coinbase’s valuation might approached new breaking new records, $100bn, while Ant Group went for a $200 billion valuation after the IPO halt. We saw new entrance on the US market, with Revolut launching business accounts. And after the much debated SEC investigation, Robinhood filed for IPO. Much excitement has been around WhatsApp payment’s service, which got another go-ahead for Brazil relaunch. Visa is also scaling up its plans, and is eyeing payment settlements using cryptocurrency.
