The FinTech markets in Germany and the Netherlands are booming and share some characteristics. Nevertheless, as a FinTech, it is not easy to use one country’s experience and best practices to successfully start in another. Despite many contacts and joint activities between German and Dutch FinTech hubs and associations since 2016, it is still challenging to maintain a comprehensive overview of the mutual FinTech landscapes, including major trends, opportunities, and challenges.
Therefore, FinTech Consult and Contextual Solutions were commissioned to prepare a study about the German FinTech ecosystem in Q3 2022 on behalf of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) Frankfurt am Main.
The study uses unique market insights, research, and interviews with German FinTech ecosystem stakeholders while shedding light on the whole ecosystem. The primary goal of the analysis is to provide a market overview. We have included here the preview of the study.
We would like to introduce to you the authors of the study who will present their work and lead the discussion:
First is Dr. Jochen Biedermann who is the Managing Partner of FinTech Consult and also Managing Director of the World Alliance of International Financial Center (WAIFC) AISBL, Moreover, he serves as an Expert at the Sino-German Center for Finance and Economics e.V and a Fellow of the Think Tank of the Asian Financial Cooperation Association (AFCA). Furthermore, he is the CEO of Blockchain Asia Limited and Senior Advisor at Frankfurt Main Finance e.V. He is also the coordinator, mentor and board members of many initiatives, start-up programs and fintech companies.
Second is Sebnem Elif Kocaoglu Ulbrich, founder & Principal at Contextual Solutions. Sebnem has over 15 years of project management, business development, and regulatory strategy experience in tech platforms and banks. Last but not least is Simon Ulbrich, lead Consultant at Contextual Solutions. Simon has over 10 years of first-hand project and product management experience in the digital and white-label banking industry, including “Big Tech” and startup products. He is also Project lead for Mobile Payment integration at one of Germany’s largest online banks
