Holland Fintech (hollandfintech.com) is a well-established association for organizations active in financial innovation and fintech. Our growing fintech ecosystem consists of startups, scaleups, and established technology and financial players. Our activities have a strong base in the Netherlands and key focus on Europe and thrive on engaging meetings and events. We seek a new Event Manager, who is able to create the right environment for our members and network to connect, learn, and innovate!

Are you our next Senior Event Manager? 

We are currently looking for an English-speaking (Dutch is a plus), entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic Senior Event Manager with a "can-do" attitude to create and execute on events that enhance our members’ engagement and experience, allowing for knowledge and content sharing and encouraging networking. 

The Senior Event Manager is the product owner of our event calendar and makes sure it stands out from the existing relevant event landscape. The Senior Event Manager creates and manages event-related partnerships, creates new formats, and secures smooth operations and delivery on engagement targets, together with the event interns. 

The Senior Event Manager’s role is both hands-on and entrepreneurial. It includes finding and securing venues, setting up the (virtual) event platform, planning and managing the events, handling speakers and hosts, and aligning with the rest of our organization. Event communication and marketing as well as managing performance, timeframes, and budgets are also part of the role as is thinking of new ideas and concepts.

The ideal candidate for this role understands the bigger picture and our mission, he or she should demonstrate strong organizational abilities, and communication skills, be able to multi-task and perform under time pressure, and hence have excellent time-management as well as cross-functional skills. The Event Manager should maximize engagement in the network, reinforce commercial relations, improve the organization's brand, and effectively deliver on our organization's mission and targets.

Event Manager Responsibilities:

• Creating an engaging program for our members and stakeholders
• Managing the event calendar, formats, and planning
• Managing relationships with third-party event organizers
• Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts.
• Commercial responsibility for events
• Managing and teaching the event interns 
• Coordinate involvement of other team members in the preparation and execution of events
• Handling budgeting and invoicing.
• Reporting on KPIs
• Managing marketing and communication for events.
• Ensuring a continuous feedback loop on our performance
• Handling post-event follow up
• Delivering around 50 smaller events per year and a few big ones, like Amsterdam Fintech Week

Event Manager Requirements:

• You are driven to bring people together in an inspiring and open atmosphere
• You have a passion for learning, and working in the Fintech industry appeals to you
• You have excellent communication and marketing skills.
• You have project management experience and can work with direct reports.
• You have proficiency in various event software (MS Team, youtube, Linkedin, Streamyard,..)
• You like to work in a small, dynamic, international, and fun team, with a high level of individual responsibilities

• You are also able to work independently and are open to getting and giving feedback
• You continually look for ways to better yourself, your performance, and our team’s output
• And last but not least, you have a University or University of Applied Science background in events management, business, marketing, economics, finance, corporate communication studies, or similar
