Capital Markets Roundtable recap

Capital markets are undergoing a deep change in their practices as digitization is impacting their value chains. On Friday 24 November, Holland FinTech organised a roundtable at financial services company IHS Markit’s Amsterdam offices, to discuss with different stakeholders the possible evolutions likely to transform the market.

In addition to IHS Markit (Joost Bongers), ABN Amro Clearing Bank (Niek Van Rens, Jethro Van der Schaaf), trading platform and asset management companies Robeco (Willem Jellema), Optiver (Lodewijk Bonebakker), Kempen (CJ Welkzijn) and NxChange (Marleen Evertsz, Joris Juriaan de Vor) were present around the table.

Financial consulting firm Turner (Frits Korthals Altes), data-analysis start-up Owlin (Bob Koster, Wouter Sterk) and information firm Thomson Reuters (Erwin Oudwater, Erol Komac) also participated in the roundtable.

“It was interesting to engage in discussions with other fintechs and financials and learn which topics are on top of their agenda within the capital markets landscape - including the war on talent, security and regulatory topics.” — Wouter Sterk (Owlin)

The confrontation of legacy against digital transformation, cryptocurrencies, ICOs and regulatory issues were reached during the conversation.
