Global Finance magazine created a list of companies and solutions that are innovative in the financial services sector, called The Innovators. 2018 was the sixth year for the competition, with Banking Circle’s Virtual IBAN winning an award.
The Virtual IBAN solution enables financial institutions, including fintechs, to provide their customers with dedicated IBAN accounts in multiple currencies in several locations, giving entities who use the service a competitive advantage.
Global Finance’s publisher and editorial director, Joseph D. Giarraputo, stated that companies and solutions nominated for the awards were “all organisations that encourage and support creative thinking and have developed that thinking into viable solutions.”
Anders la Cour, co-founder and CEO of Banking Circle, called the accolade a “great honour,” adding that this is their fifth award-win this year to date and “a testament to the dedication of the team, and clearly demonstrates the market importance of the solution.”
Earlier in the year, the company also received the Best Alternative Payment Solution award at the Merchant Payments Ecosystem Awards, came out on top in the FinTech Breakthrough Awards’ Best B2B Payments Company category, was named Best Industry Innovation at the 2018 Card and Payments Awards, and was nominated for awards in two categories at the 2018 FSTech Awards.
