Brussels, 13 January 2021 – Payment Service Provider Buckaroo is opening its Brussels office today. The company focuses on online payment flows and sees Belgium as a growth market towards European expansion. So far, Buckaroo has started partnerships with the Belgium-based Bancontact Payconiq Company, POM and national football team the Rode Duivels.
Buckaroo’s expansion is the result of a dynamic e-commerce- and payments market and the related growing demand for online payments solutions of Belgian entrepreneurs. CEO Paul Scholten: ‘BeCommerce Market Monitor’s third quarter figures show that Belgians have been spending no less than a third more than in the same period last year. The sectors that experience growth here are much the same as the ones that are experiencing growth in the Dutch market; our payment services are just the thing Belgian entrepreneurs need to facilitate that growth.’
Bancontact Payconiq Company Acquirer
Opening today in Brussels is the office at which Head of Belgium Brecht Kaes will be taking charge of the expansion. Buckaroo previously took the first steps to introduce itself to the Belgians by entering into a partnership with Bancontact Payconiq Company, making it the first provider of Wallet Initiated Payments (WIP) in July. The PSP is also a Bancontact acquirer; this allows direct links with payments solutions. The first Belgian customers have already signed up, for example the national football team the Rode Duivels.
Smart Solutions
Buckaroo specializes in providing facilities for online payment flows such as checkouts and subscription payments, credit management and collection processing. The company offers a varied package of over 40 online payment methods including Bancontact, Visa, Mastercard, Payconiq and Apple Pay. In the Benelux, more than 3,000 large and small businesses use Buckaroo’s services, including Swapfiets, Videoland and The Ocean Cleanup.
The FinTech has developed various industry-specific, international solutions for its customers, including subscription and credit management for corporates such as telecoms and streaming services. Buckaroo also offers Marketplace Split-Payments, allowing marketplaces to process payments from different suppliers in a single consumer transaction. The PSP’s software works with various e-commerce plugins for Magento 1 and 2, Shopware 5 and 6, Woocommerce, Lightspeed and Prestashop. It also offers reseller options via integration with partners such as POM, Doccle and Digiteal, as well as Buckaroo’s platform Addity for white label payment solutions.
More than Manage Online Payment Flows
Buckaroo primarily owes its success to the many customers and partners with whom it worked intensively over the past 15 years. Scholten: ‘Our strength is in collaboration and in the customer service we provide. We built the solutions we offer on different demands that emerged in different markets, in many cases connected with the specific needs of specific customers who were pioneers in their industry. We are closely involved with our customers and offer tailored payment advice for different industries, from retail to ticketing, each focused on individual online strategies.’
Buckaroo not only distinguishes itself by taking care of the entire payment process, but also and especially by using smart solutions to enable its customers to grow. The Smart Checkout, for example, is fully customizable and the self-learning technology automatically prioritizes the payer’s favourite payment method. Thanks to data analysis and accumulated know-how, Buckaroo’s software results in fewer pull-outs and therefore more conversion in the checkout process.
