Dapper Labs Raises $305M (€256M) in Funding

Dapper Labs (Vancouver, BC, Canada), a blockchain-based experience provider, closed a $305M funding round. The round, which brings the total capital raised to date to $357m, was led by Coatue. The company intends to use the funds to scale the team to continue building out the NBA Top Shot vision, expanding the platform to other sports, and enabling a new generation of creators develop engaging experiences using blockchain technology including NFTs. Blockchain.com secures €254M at €4.4B valuation

Blockchain.com (London, UK), a crypto wallet and exchange operator, has secured $300M (approx €254M) funding in the Series C round at a post-money valuation of $5.2B (approx €4.4B). The round was led by DST Global, VY Capital, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The firm plans to expand the products to customers, grow its global team, and pursue M&A opportunities to bring exciting new products and ideas into the company. Read more 

Feedzai Raises $200M (€170) in Series D Funding

Feedzai (Lisbon, Portugal), a financial risk management platform provider, raised $200m in Series D funding round. The round was led by KKR, with the participation from existing investors Sapphire Ventures and Citi Ventures. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate global expansion, further develop its product offerings, and boost its partner strategy. Read more 

Pie Insurance raises $118M (€105M) for data-driven workers’ comp coverage

Pie Insurance (Washington, DC, US), a startup offering workers’ compensation insurance to small businesses, announced this morning that it has closed on $118 million in a Series C round of funding. The company plans to use its new capital to invest further in technology and automation, to grow its core workers’ comp insurance business and to launch new business offerings in 2021. Read more

Airwallex raises $100M (€85M)Series D extension at new valuation of $2.6B (€2.2B)

Airwallex (Melbourne, Australia), a fintech company for cross-border businesses, announced today it has added $100 million more to its Series D round, bumping its valuation up to $2.6 billion. The extension was led by Greenoaks, with participation from Grok Ventures, Skip Capital and ANZi Ventures. The new funding will be used for Airwallex’s United States launch in the second quarter of this year, to expand its payment coverage to new regions like the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America, and to add more products, including physical cards. Ajaib raises $65M (€55M) Series A extension, increasing the round’s total to $90M (€76M)

Ajaib (Jarkarta, Indonesia), an online brokerage, has added $65 million to its Series A, bringing the round’s total to $90 million. The funds will be used to expand Ajaib’s product development and engineering capabilities. Read more 

Fixico closes €12M Series A to grow its digital car repair management platform

Fixico (Amsterdam, Netherlands), a digital platform for insurers, fleets and rental, had announced that it has raised €5M extension to its Series A round funding, closing the total at €12M. The round was led by Autotech Ventures and participated by Finch Capital, and Madrid-based Mundi Ventures. The new funding will accelerate Fixico’s product development, strengthen its core markets’ footprint and help expand its services across Europe. Read more 

Recharge.com raises €10M in debt funding

Recharge.com (Amsterdam, Netherlands), a branded payment company, has raised €10M in a debt funding round. Recharge.com plans to use the capital to further enhance its mobile offering, extend its product range, and accelerate its international expansion. Read more

Meniga closes additional €10M investment

Meniga (London, UK), a provider of digital banking technology to leading banks, has closed €10 million in additional funding. The round is led by Velocity Capital and Frumtak Ventures, with participation from Industrifonden, the U.K. Government’s Future Fund and existing customers UniCredit, Swedbank, Groupe BPCE and Íslandsbanki. The funding will be used to further invest in R&D, develop green banking products, and to build its carbon spending insights product. Read more 

Vega Closes $5M (€4M) Funding Round

Vega (Gibraltar, UK), a decentralized derivatives trading protocol that bridges traditional finance and DeFi, raised $5m in funding round, led by Arrington Capital and Cumberland DRW. The company plans to enable self-custodied cross-chain collateral, and build a trustless bridge into the Ethereum ecosystem. Future deployments will widen Vega’s scope into other major blockchains including Bitcoin, Polkadot and Cosmos, driving toward Vega’s overarching mission to democratize derivatives infrastructure. Osu Raises £2.25M (€2.64M) in Seed Funding

Osu (London, UK), a provider of a payment app for the UK’s self-employed, closed a £2.25m seed funding round. The round was led by Creandum plus Ada Ventures, Breega and angel investors including Charles Delingpole, Will Neale and Michael Pennington. The company intends to use the funds to expand its business reach this year, and to introduce a host of new business management features over the coming months to further simplify operations for the self-employed.
