Nucleus Commercial Finance lands £200m (€231m) funding from NatWest

Fintech lender Nucleus secures a £200m funding line from NatWest, expanding its SME loans with short and long-term unsecured products. This brings Nucleus’ total funding to £900m, enabling the AI-powered lender to cater to an additional 2000 SMEs and reinforcing its role as an alternative to traditional banks. Read more

Finland-based Failup Ventures secures €30M in first closing of its new early-stage fund; Know more

Helsinki-based Failup Ventures secures €30M in the first closing of its €50M early-stage fund, with anchor investor Business Finland Venture Capital Oy. The Finnish-American VC, with a core foothold in the US, aims to support mission-driven founders globally, already making three investments in startups such as Foundernest, Ever, and Vested Health. InsurTech startup Lassie secures €23m in Series B funding led by Balderton Capital, bringing its total funding to €36.5m. Lassie, a pioneer in preventive pet insurance, plans to expand its ecosystem, enhance technology, and support international launches with the investment. Read more

Hexa lands a €20m investment to pioneer diverse startups across multiple sectors

Forward-thinking startup studio Hexa secures €20m in funding to accelerate startup creation, with plans to launch 30 startups annually by 2030. The investment, led by a mix of entrepreneurs and family offices, enables Hexa to diversify into sectors such as AI, health, climate, education, proptech, agritech, and cybersecurity. Read more

Mozaic.io secures $20m (€18.2m) Series A investment led by Volition Capital

Mozaic.io, a payments platform specializing in revenue and royalty splits for creative professionals, secures a $20m Series A investment led by Volition Capital. The funding will fuel product development, including a self-serve feature, and expand teams to manage collaborations on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Shopify. Read more

Belfast’s Cloudsmith secures $11m (€10m) in Series A2 funding

Belfast-headquartered Cloudsmith, a software supply chain management firm, has raised $11 million in Series A2 funding led by MMC Ventures. The investment will fuel the expansion of Cloudsmith’s cloud-native software supply chain solution, catering to the growing demand for secure and reliable software supply chain platforms. Read more

Nigerian startup FrontEdge bags $10m (€9.1m) for trade finance growth

Nigerian trade finance startup FrontEdge has secured $10 million in a funding round led by TLG Capital and featuring participation from Flexport. The capital injection, a mix of debt and equity, will support FrontEdge’s mission to boost African SMEs engaged in cross-border trade by providing necessary capital and expertise for growth. WeeFin raises €7M to revolutionise ESG strategies for European finance

FinTech company WeeFin has secured €7 million in Series A funding led by IRIS and Ring Capital, with additional contributions from existing investors Asterion Ventures and Investir&+. WeeFin, known for its innovative SaaS platform, plans to utilize the funding to expand across Europe, recruit over 100 employees, establish a new office in London, and further develop its platform, ESG Connect, which helps financial institutions develop and manage effective Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies. Keyless separates from Sift, secures $6m (€5.4m) in funding

Keyless, a UK-based fraud prevention company, has secured $6 million in funding to accelerate the adoption of its biometric authentication solutions beyond Europe. Led by Rialto Ventures, the funding increases Keyless’ total funding to $26 million, and the company plans to use the investment to enhance its privacy-preserving biometric authentication platform, ESG Connect, which addresses identity verification challenges and ensures compliance with global data protection and privacy regulations such as GDPR.
