Wirecard and O2 offer mobile point-of-sale solutions for Czech retailers. With this service, merchants are able to comply to new governmental standards. Wirecard manages the technical integration in this cooperation and acquiring processing
The payment service provider Wirecard is partnering with Czech Republic’s largest telecommunication provider O2, to offer a unified solution for retailers. With the mobile point-of-sale solutions (dedicated wireless device that performs the function of a sale terminal), merchants are able to comply with new governmental standards. Law introduced this year requires retailers to conclude payment transactions online, in order to prevent tax evasion.
Within this cooperation, Wirecard will process all payment transactions and provide its mobile point-of-sale solutions software developing kit (SDK) to O2. Subsequently, the telecom provider will provide its customers tools to handle transactions securely.
“It’s a pleasure to work with Wirecard on this project to really draw an advantage for retailers out of this situation. For us, Wirecard is a reliable partner that quickly responds to innovations,” said Lubos Lukasik, Director, SMB segment and indirect sales at O2.
Roland Toch, Managing Director at Wirecard CEE, said: “We are delighted to work with O2 on this large volume project. The new combination that includes services from both parties enables retailers to benefit from powerful payment management features as they can simply repurpose a tablet to a new checkout device. That optimizes the processes and reduces costs at the same time.”
