We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Representative

Holland Fintech is currently looking for an ambitious Dutch & English speaking Business Development Representative for our office in Amsterdam. Key responsibilities:

You will be responsible for business development and working closely together with the Founder / CEO of Holland Fintech on how to best grow the network. Additionally, you will be supported by and working with an international team responsible for Marketing & Communication, Account Management, Partnerships, Content and Events. 

In your role, it is important that you invest in understanding more about the network in general and the businesses you speak to (industry segment, how they work, growth plans, challenges, their experience in innovation) and their needs and pain points, more specifically.

Your daily responsibilities can best be described as follows:

  • Analyse the fintech market to expand our ecosystem
  • Identify prospects within our target audience
  • Collect the correct account information and contacts for your prospects audience
  • Qualify all sales leads based on specific criteria
  • Contact and engage with our prospects, ranging from small fintech startups to large financial institutions
  • Network at Holland Fintech events, and other Digital Finance related events.
  • Contribute to all important parts of the sales cycle (lead generation, pipeline management, send proposals, close deals, progress reporting, handover to account management team and communication)
  • Building an extensive network and business knowledge in Fintech
  • Gaining an understanding of the wide variety of companies in the Digital Finance market
  • Assisting in campaign and communication events and optimise when needed
  • Attend our on- and offline events and actively engage with our members and the fintech community


Essential requirements:

  • You are driven, results-oriented, disciplined, and get a kick from delivering on your targets  
  • You have a strong customer focus and recognise the importance of truly understanding their needs
  • You have a passion for learning and working in the Fintech industry excites you
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills and speak fluent English & Dutch
  • You have excellent time management skills, can set your priorities and have an eye for detail
  • You have some experience dealing with customers, if you have previous sales experience (especially in a SaaS environment) that’s a definite bonus!
  • You like to work in a small, dynamic, international and fun team, with a high level of individual responsibilities
  • But you also work well independently and are open to getting feedback and continually look for ways to better yourself and your performance
  • And last but not least, you have a University or Applied Science background in business, marketing, economics, finance, corporate communication studies or similar


What you will be learning/doing:

You will learn the basics of sales and business development, f.i. how to handle common objections through a mixture of theory and practical training, pipeline management and closing deals. You’ll also be on the front lines of our new lead generation efforts, testing new lead sources and data, cleansing cold data lists and following up on targeted marketing campaigns, enabling us to exceed ambitious growth targets.
